I read this fic not so long ago, but I can't remember where.
The basic plot line was David wondering why Don's in such a bad mood after billy leaves at the end of Man Hunt.
I thought it was by Penguingal, but I've been through her whole fics journal with no luck. If anyone can remember anything like this, please let me know.
